Make the Holidays Easier, Use a Calendar!
Posted on Monday, November 27, 2023There are a lot of expectations around the holidays. Many people associate the holidays with social gatherings, rituals, and happy memories. These expectations can lead to stress. It can quickly become overwhelming to make every meal award-worthy and every wrapped gift look perfect. Finding the time to attend every party or feeling like you haven't been invited to enough parties can also cause stress. There's also a desire to cram in every tradition and event to make sure each day is memorable. When you add in the financial burden, travel, and visiting family members, stress can pile up quickly. The holidays can also be a difficult time of year for people who have lost friends and family members. The memory of the loss can make it harder to cope with holiday season stressors.

Avoid Car Break Ins
Posted on Tuesday, June 13, 2023As Christmas shopping and traveling is in full swing, we wanted to touch base and remind you that car break ins are also on the rise. I had a chat with a police officer earlier last week, and he told me that that was majority of all of his responding calls the past few weeks. Almost every day, he had dozens and dozens of responding calls to cars that were broken in, glass shattered, or attempted break ins. And as the snow starts approaching this week, he anticipates more and more car thefts as people leave their cars running out front of their houses.

True Crime = Glorification?
Posted on Sunday, September 25, 2022I love a good true crime podcast, documentaries based around true crime, and occasionally I will read a book about a serial killer. It's not that I idolize them, but I can't turn away from the train wreck of a person that they are. Do I idolize the killers? Absolutely not. But the psychology behind the killer fascinates me. What turned them into the monster that they have become?
Sneaky Teenagers and Location Services
Posted on Friday, July 22, 2022Yep, it's finally happened to me. My second eldest teen boy has been sneaking out and doing things that we do not approve of. Granted, he just turned 18 this week - but we have always maintained the "my house, my rules" rule while the older kids are living with us and finishing up high school. So where do we go from here?

Her father, Mark Lunsford, noticed that she was not in her bedroom nor the house. A nationwide missing children's alert was issues and the search for little Jessie was on. Her family was automatically assuming something sinister had happened since the little girl was not one to run away or leave on her own.
Better Mental Health
Posted on Thursday, January 6, 2022Millions of people in the U.S. are affected by mental illness each year. It’s important to measure how common mental illness is, so we can understand its physical, social and financial impact - and so we can show that no one is alone. These numbers are also powerful tools for raising public awareness, stigma-busting and advocating for better health care.
